India Company to Make Butter and Cheese in N.Y.

A dairy products manufacturer based in Gujarat, in western India, has announced that it will begin producing Indian cheese (paneer) and butter (ghee) at an existing New York state plant owned by New Jersey-based NRI Piyush Patel.
The dairy company’s name is the Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Limited, better known as Amul Dairy.

According to the Times of India, Amul Dairy’s managing director Rahul Kumar said there is “huge” demand for Amul products in Indian restaurants in the U.S., especially in New Jersey, which has a large Indian population.
