The National Dairy Shrine announces the winners of their scholarships for 2013.
NDS Student Recognition Awards
The top awarded is Jacob Achen from St Paul, Minn. The second award goes to April Johnson of Heron Lake, Minn. Next is Mandy Brazil from Petaluma, Calif. Following next is Casey Arlig from Friendship, N.Y. Next is Jordan Hanson from Decorah, Iowa. Following is Isaac Salfer from Dassel, Minn. Next is Mitch Kappelman from Two Rivers, Wis. Following next is Tyler Boyd from Parrottsville, Tenn. The final recognition awardee is Matt Henkes from Luana, Iowa.
Kildee Scholarship Awards
Receiving the Kildee Graduate Studies Scholarship is Carissa Doody of Union Bridge, Md. Mandy Brazil of Petaluma, Calif., has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Kildee Undergraduate Studies Scholarship.
NDS/DMI Milk Marketing Scholarships
Hayley Potts, of Purcellville, Va. has been awarded the National Dairy Shrine/DMI Milk Marketing Top Scholarship of $1,500. Additionally, eight other undergraduate students have been awarded $1000 scholarships and are listed alphabetically. Rebecca Groos of Howard Lake, Minn., Jordan Haelfrisch, of Reedsville, Wis., Chaneen Haler of Norwood, Minn., Chelsey Johnson from Heron Lake, Minn., Nicolas Reps from Utica, Minn., Michael Schmitt from Rice, Minn. and Roxanne Seltzer from Selinsgrove, Pa.
Maurice Core Scholarship
Receiving Maurice core Scholarships are Bethany Dado of Amery, Wisc., Mikayla Conrad from New Holland, Ohio, and Shannon Rodeffer from Snohomish, Wash.
Iager Scholarship
The two recipients this year are; Leah Caverly of Clinton, Maine and Jorin Ouwinga of McBain, Mich.
McCullough Scholarships
This year’s McCullough Scholarship Winners are Johanna Knorr of Pelican Rapids, Minn and Sydney Endres of Lodi, Wis.
Klussendorf & McKown Scholarship Winners
Hannah Bachman of Ulysses, Pa., Emilie Strand of Ithaca, N.Y. and Mary Elizabeth Foote of Hartford, N.Y. have been named this year’s Klussendorf Association Scholarship winners. The McKown Scholarship winners this year are Ralph Cunningham from Penngrove, Calif., Cody Getschel from Osceola, Wis., Michael Schmitt of Rice, Minna and Austin Schwartzbeck of Union Bridge, Md.
